Ricky Gervais Slams Moaning Celebrities Who’s Crying About Isolation as NHS Heroes Lose Lives
Many has been put in self-isolation amid coronavirus outbreak, but many are moaning about it and Ricky Gervais has no sympathy for those, especially if they are millionairs.
The 58-year-old comedian, whose second series of After Life is due to be released on Netflix later this month, was forthright in his thoughts about rich stars bemoaning their lot.
This was heightened by singer Sam Smith crying on Instagram as he struggles to cope with self-isolation in his £12million home.
Speaking to The Sun, Gervais said: “After this is over I never want to hear people moaning about the welfare state again, I never want to hear people moaning about nurses again. Or porters.
“These people are doing 14-hour shifts and not complaining. Wearing masks, and being left with sores, after risking their own health and their families’ health selflessly.”
He then turned his ire on fellow celebrities who think they have it tough, saying: “Then I see someone complaining about being in a mansion with a swimming pool. And, you know, honestly, I just don’t want to hear it.”
Ricky has an estimated worth of over £100million after successes with The Office and Extras paved the way for a Hollywood career before adding Derek and After Life to his sitcom CV.
