Duffy’s Dad Revealed Years Ago That His Daughter Was Going Through ‘A Quiet Period’ In Her Life
When hearing one of her songs on the radio, people would every now and then wonder where the 5ft 2in British blonde bombshell went. After her career reached it’s high, and she became one of the biggest female vocals of that time, she dissapeared into thin air.
Yesterday the singer revealed on her Instagram page she had taken an hiatus in her public life after she was ”raped and drugged and held captive’.
Duffy’s father John, had already indicated that his daughter had been going through a hard time.
In an interview that was never published John described her long hiatus in her career as ‘a quiet period’.
Back then, he said that she might be coming back again, but that equally she might choose not to ever return.
‘She has never stopped writing music. It’s what she’s always done. She just hasn’t been in the public eye lately. She’s got a lot going for her. It’s up to her what she does and I’ll always support her and back her decisions. She is my flesh and blood.’
He also said that she hasn’t been in a committed relationship since breaking up with Wales rugby star Mike Phillips back in 2011.
‘She’s not involved with anyone at the moment. I can assure you she hasn’t had any kids,’ John said.
John revealed they were in regular contact but didn’t want to say where his daughter currently lives.
When asked about her possible comeback, after Duffy announced she will “return soon” on her Instagram page back in 2017, he answered: ‘No, I can’t speak. No good would come of it.’
