This Golden Retriever had to lose 66 pounds: He’s now overjoyed

Maggie McCarthy introduced a golden retriever who struggled with being overweight.
Phil was almost 66 pounds overweight. Meggie noticed that Phil was walking and breathing hard.
The vet recommended that Phil lose those 66 pounds and come to a normal weight of about 88 pounds.
The weight loss process was not easy at all. Maggie took him for a walk twice a day, and at first he could only take 10-15 steps.
Since Maggie lives on the second floor, she had to carry him up the stairs every day.
After a few weeks, Phil started losing weight and his progress was getting faster.
“He started walking more and more and then he started running. I cut his meals down and sometimes he got mad at me. The hard work paid off and Phil is a happy dog who weighs about 88 pounds today. His life is much easier and happier now.” Maggie concluded.
