Superhero Of The Day: Golden Retriever Made Court Appearance To Help Victim Of Abuse

Today we are presenting you a true superhero!

A golden-retriever became a courthouse dog as he comforted a teenage girl who tragically became the victim of abuse.

The dog made a very rare court appearance and helped the girl stay calm and fight stress during her emotional hearing.

Courthouse dogs are usually  trained to provide psychological support to people who have suffered trauma so they can overcome the overwhelming emotions that may be caused during interviews.

He accompanied her for 90 minutes  while she was cross-examined during the trial of a man that is accused of abusing her.

She initially refused to testify in court, because she wasn’t sure is she could ever handle it, but then – she finally learned she would not be alone! After the dog was allowed to keep her company, thanks to a note from the girl’s doctor, she agreed to testify.

After the hearing, she said: “It was nice (the dog) was there.”
