You see, Theo used to be a very loved and happy dog. He had a good life, he had humans who cared for him, but he was particularly fond of a little boy. You could say he was his best friend. However, Theo grew old and got very, very sick. He was dying…

His owner, for whatever reason decided to simply dump the golden retriever in a parking lot, not telling his wife and son. But, as there are no coincidences in life, Theo got reunited with that cruel man’s son – who had no idea where his beloved pet had gone. Theo the dog finally enjoyed a reunion with the boy he loved the most.

But how did this happen, how did the boy, who hasn’t been named, find Theo?

Well, after he was left behind, Theo was found by a kind couple who devised a bucket list of fun things to do during his final weeks. Because of this bucket list Theo became a local celebrity and ended up on TV. And that’s how it all went down. The child who’d once cared for the dog recognized him after seeing him on television.

Recalling Theo’s reunion with the boy, his new owner Jenny Leech, from Crystal Lake in Illinois said: ‘They knew it was him when they saw him on TV. About 15 minutes into (them meeting) it, all of a sudden Theo’s nose went up. He just looked at the boy.”
