0 Pomeranian dog tested positive for coronavirus. He most likely contracted the disease from its owner.
The owner, Yvonne Chow Hau Yee, who lives in Hong Kong, tested positive for the virus as well.
After going to the vet oral, nasal and rectal samples were collected.
After testing the results showed the dog is weak positive to the virus.
Hong Kong’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department reported that the dog didn’t have any symptoms.
They stated: ‘The AFCD does not have evidence that pet animals can be infected with COVID-19 virus or can be a source of infection to people.’
The Pomeranian is the first dog tested positive for the virus, but it is believed that cases worldwide will be identified
