The Platform Is New Netflix’s Horror Film And Has a Chilling Hidden Meaning Behind It

Latest in series of Netflix foreign-language horror movies takes us to 333-storey prison block, whereby a platform feeds the prisoners at the top as they watch the ones below starve. New Spanish thriller, The Platform shows us how that could look like.
If you like horror movies, this is movie for you. The foreign language movie, also known as El Hoyo, has already bagged an 82% Rotten Tomatoes rating.
Story takes us to future prisons, with vertical tower blocks and a single platform of food between all of the inmates – with those at the top eating like kings, while they watch those on the lower levels starve and go full cannibal on their cellmates just to avoid going hungry.
Starring Iván Massagué as main character Goreng, we watch as the voluntary inmate (in exchange for a college degree) battles his way through six months of being entrapped on various levels of the jail, where his cellmates never last long.
It’s gonna be a long and dangerous journey…
