‘I feared for my life’: 90 Day Fiance’s Karine Martins reveals she fled home of husband Paul Staehle with their toddler after calling police
90 Day Fiance’s Karine Martins says she and her one-year-old son Pierre are alright after she left the home of husband Paul Staehle and was granted an emergency protective order against him.
‘I want you all to know that me and Pierre are doing well now,’ Martins, 23, said in an Instagram Stories post Sunday. ‘All this past days I had a lot going on.
‘I had issues where the police was called because I feared for my life and my son’s life which led me to ask for help and ultimately be rescued from an environment that no longer was healthy for none of us involved in the situation.’
Martins said she was ‘getting the best help [she] could ever get and [was] really thankful for all the people’ coming to her aid, as it has been a ‘big part’ of her ‘recovery.’
The Brazilian reality star took to social media a day after Staehle, 37, said on Instagram Stories that he was ‘really upset’ after a neighbor told him that Martins had taken the child and fled in a man’s vehicle, US reported.
Staehle displayed a restraining order Martins filed for ordering him to stay a minimum of 500 feet away from her and their son.
Martins departed the family’s house after a clash Thursday – that required police intervention – which Staehle said erupted when he witnessed her speaking ‘to a Brazilian lawyer about child support and divorce,’ US reported.
On Friday, he said on Instagram Stories that Karine and Pierre were missing and that he was ‘worried for her safety.
‘Karine took off with Pierre and I don’t know where they are,’ he said.
Martins said in court docs that he had sexually assaulted her, prevented her from obtaining birth control and was trying to leverage her by keeping her Green Card on his person, the outlet reported.
