Robert Pattinson Says He Thinks It’s “Strange” That People Like Twilight

Robert Pattinson got famous playing Edward Cullen in the movies for the Twilight saga, alongside his co-star Kristen Stewart who played his lover –  Bella Swan.

Robert didn’t ever keep it a secret that he wasn’t the biggest fan of the movies, but recently he reminded us all why.

The Twilight books came out in 2005 and instantly became a best-seller. Only three years later, the movies were released. People were going crazy over them, and Robert and Kristen became teen idols basically over night.

The final Twilight movie came out in 2012, and even after all those years – Rob still doesn’t get why people ever liked it.

In a recent interview with Variety Pattinson talked about Twilight and why he doesn’t get the hype: “It’s a weird story, Twilight. It’s not just like – it’s strange how people responded a lot to it.” He added: “I guess the books are very romantic, but at the same time, it’s not like The Notebook romantic.”

He continued: “The Notebook is very sweet and heartbreaking, but Twilight is about this guy, and he finds the one girl he wants to be with, and he also wants to eat her… I mean, not eat her, but like drink her blood or whatever. It’s not that other people are telling them they can’t be together, it’s his own body telling him that.”

Well, I guess he just crushed our early-teen dreams. Who thought not even Edward Cullen liked Edward Cullen.
