Taylor Swift released her eighth studio album Folklore on Thursday evening and fans wasted no time uncovering any and all potential meanings hidden in each original track.
And fans theorize that one song titled Betty may have been Swift’s clever way of revealing the name of pal Blake Lively’s nine-month-old daughter.
A source close to the situation alleged to People that the song was in fact ‘named in part’ for Lively’s third daughter, whom the actress shares with husband Ryan Reynolds.
Blake and Ryan – who wed in 2012 – also share daughters James, five, and Inez, three.
Fans of Taylor Swift were further convinced that the 30-year-old singer had unveiled Blake and Ryan’s third daughter’s name because she also used the names of the couple’s other two daughters in the song.
‘Betty, I know where it all went wrong,’ sings Swift, before launching into two lines that read: ‘You heard the rumors from Inez / You can’t believe a word she says’ and ‘She said, ‘James, get in, let’s drive.”
Taylor and Blake have been friends since around 2015, so it is no wonder that the Grammy Award-winner would pay homage to the actress’ growing family.
