Man accused of murdering wife after ‘suspicious’ coronavirus cover-up texts

David Anthony has been charged with the murder of his wife Gretchen after ‘suspicious’ text messages were sent from her phone saying she had coronavirus.
What made investigators suspicious was the fact that Gretchen went missing from her home just weeks after filing for divorce from her husband 43-year-old husband.
When 51-year-old Gretchen vanished, her relatives informed police they’d received worrying messages from her phone.
They claimed she had a “serious case of coronavirus” and was getting urgent medical care. They even recieved information in which hospital and clinic she is, but when family members contacted the clinic and hospital for more information, they were told nobody with the name Gretchen Anthony had been admitted, the Washington Post reports.
When Gretchen couldn’t be found, relatives reported her missing and informed police about the messages.
Two weeks later, police in Jupiter, Florida arrested Gretchen’s husband David, 43, and charged him with kidnapping and murder.
Gretchen’s body has not been found and police are still searching for her.
