Zara McDermott is forced to apologise and change the caption on bikini snap after receiving backlash for saying she’s ‘let herself go’!

Zara McDermott apologised after facing backlash for a bikini snap from her recent Marbella getaway on Tuesday.
Zara admitted she edited the caption on a snap posted to her fitness page, A Day With Zara, after previously saying she’s ‘let herself go’ during her holiday.
Zara’s followers were quick to question her choice of words in the caption of her post, with one follower writing: ‘You still have washboard flat stomach…’ (sic)
Zara admitted she changed the post’s accompanying caption after social media users highlighted the issue of ‘suggesting relaxing on holiday is something negative’.
The media personality’s new message read: ‘Me this morning. I’ve indulged in loads of amazing food this holiday and I’m excited to get home and get cooking again❤️.’ (sic)
Insisting she didn’t intend on offending anyone, the Love Island 2018 contestant added: ‘I’ve changed the caption.
‘The original caption said ”me this morning” and said that in the afternoons and evenings I’ve been feeling super bloated. I just wanted to make people realise it’s okay to be bloated. Wasn’t my intention to upset anyone. I apologise x.
‘can never win anymore. It’s really upsetting and also demotivating ☹️ all I have ever promoted is a healthy balanced diet and exercise 3-4 times a week.’ (sic)
‘Surely you see why the words ‘I’ve let myself go’ wasn’t the best phrase to use though xx’, a disappointed follower wrote.
Another explained: ‘I feel like you don’t have a negative intention in writing this, however please be careful with your wording. ‘Letting yourself go, whilst on holiday’ sounds like you’re suggesting that relaxing and enjoying yourself on holiday is something negative and needs to be fixed.
‘You’re very slim and very young, a week or even 5 weeks with a relaxed approach on holiday is not something that needs to be dramatically compensated for afterwards’. (sic)
A third wrote: ‘You haven’t really ‘let yourself go’ you still have washboard flat stomach… I’ve let myself go too. I don’t look like you though.’ (sic)
Others urged Zara to ‘not feel guilty’, claimed she can ‘post whatever she likes’ and said she ‘deserves to enjoy her holiday’.
They explained: ‘You look amazing, I’m so envious of your figure/fitness you can post whatever you like whenever you like.
‘The people who don’t ‘agree’ can unfollow yet they still feel the need to tell you what to do, that’s they’re insecurity not yours…. never apologise for being you.
