Grandma’s Unexpected Response To Her Birthday Song Goes Viral

Paige Kidder was celebrating her 94th birthday, and after making an unusual wish as she was presented with the cake, grandmom goes viral.

Kidder was serenaded in traditional fashion – however, she evidently wasn’t in a celebratory mood.

As the ‘Happy Birthday’ singalong drew to a close, she said: “Well, thank you very much… I hope this is my last.”

Highly unusal birthday wish was caught on camera by Paige’s granddaughter Pauline. She shared video on TikTok, where it has now been viewed more than 14 million times.

“After my grandma said her now-famous quote, ‘I hope this is my last’, I was not nearly as shocked as my friends were given that she’s been jokingly saying this for a few years now. At least, that’s what I like to believe is a joke.

“My friends awkwardly chuckled and her sons, my dad and uncle, being used to hearing it, just went about cutting the cake”, 23-year-old Pauline said.

But contrary to how the short clip might portray the birthday girl, Pauline assures us her grandma is very much ‘full of life’.

She said: “My grandma has a very sharp memory for her age and could tell you stories dating back from when she was a little girl. She is healthy, full of life, and is still very independent. She even drives on her own.”
