David Crane, creator of the legendary TV show Friends, has finally revealed why Joey and Phoebe didn’t end up together.
Even though the characters, played by Matt Le Blanc, 52, and Lisa Kudrow, 56, had so many romantic moments, and a proposal by Joey, they never became an item.
However, 62-year-old Crane, who co-wrote the show with Marta Kauffman, 63, says that the pair were never meant to be a couple because it would have been ‘too tidy and complete’ and the creators simply ‘felt it would be a mistake’.
‘When your goal is to keep the six characters in stories together, it would be really easy to go down that road but I think we all felt it would be a mistake’.
