Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara are expecting their first child, sources have claimed.
According to US site Page Six, 35-year-old Mara is around ‘six months along.’
The rumours come days after the actress was spotted on an outing in Los Angeles wearing loose fitting clothing.
In snaps recently obtained by MailOnline the star was seen in a relaxed ensemble outside her sister’s home.
Academy Award winner Joaquin said he initially thought Mara ‘despised him’.
“She’s the only girl I ever looked up on the internet,” he told Vanity Fair last October. “We were just friends, email friends. I’d never done that. Never looked up a girl online.”

Last July, it was revealed Joaquin, 45, had popped the question to his girlfriend of three years.
Joaquin and Rooney started dating three years after they met on the set of 2013 film Her.
In 2016 they worked alongside each other on Mary Magdalene.
The following year they made their red carpet debut together at the Cannes Film Festival closing ceremony.
Afterwards the Walk The Line actor confirmed they were living together in the Hollywood Hills.
