He Sang His Heart Out: Sir Elton John Breaks Down In Tears As He Ends Concert Early Due To Illness
Legendary singer Elton John had to dramatically end a concert in Auckland, New Zealand after being diagnosed with walking pneumonia.
According to him he was “deeply upset and sorry” he had to end the concert, but unfortunately there was no other option.
The 72-year-old singer was performing at Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium on Sunday when he lost his voice and broke down in tears which ultimately lead to the show finishing early.
Many fans have now even shared footage in which Sir Elton is seen crying as he is escorted from the stage while thousands of people in the arena give him a standing ovation.
After the concert the music icon shared an emotional revelation with his 2.6 million Instagram followers apologizing:
“I want to thank everyone who attended tonight’s gig in Auckland. I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia earlier today, but I was determined to give you the best show humanly possible. I played and sang my heart out, until my voice could sing no more. I’m disappointed, deeply upset and sorry. I gave it all I had. Thank-you so much for your extraordinary support and all the love you showed me during tonight’s performance. I am eternally grateful. Love, Elton xx” wrote Sir Elton John.
