David Walliams Faces Major Backlash Over ‘Cheap’ Joke About Caroline Flack!
While presenting this year’s National Television Awards actor and comedian David Walliams made a terrible and ‘cheap’ joke about late Caroline Flack’s career and faced major backlash on Twitter for it!
The Britain’s Got Talent presenter compared Caroline to the Hedgehog from The Masked Singer during the awards ceremony. When the character appeared onstage, Walliams said: ‘It’s so nice to see Caroline Flack back on TV.’
His pitty comment was of course met with boos from the audience.
But the criticism didn’t stop there. Now, after Flack’s death was announced, thousands of Twitter users believe that Walliams should apologize to her family!
“I keep thinking about David Walliams’ joke at the TV awards … we have no idea what someone is going through when they hit rock bottom, but we should never use others downfall for a cheap laugh” wrote one Twitter user.
“I really do hope David Walliams issues a sincere apology regarding his NTA lamp joke in light of this evenings heart breaking news,” another user wrote.
However, many also pointed out that this exact backlash is the kind of behavior that needs to stop!
“Surely this is the vicious circle that needs to stop…” said another person in a tweet.
