Chadwick Boseman’s brother remembers heartbreaking details of the last conversation he had with him: “He was ready to go.”

The family of Chadwick Boseman is making sure he won’t be forgotten.
Bozeman was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and battled the illness completely private until August when he tragically passed away. At the moment of his death he was 43 years old and survived by his wife, parents and brothers, Derrick and Kevin Boseman.
His brother Derrick opened up in an emotional interview with The New York Times about the final moments of his youngest brother’s life.
“[He told me], ‘Man, I’m in the fourth quarter, and I need you to get me out of the game,’” he recalled. Derrick soon “realized that he was tired” and “he was ready to go.”
His brother continued: “When he told me that, I changed my prayer from, ‘God heal him, God save him,’ to ‘God, let your will be done.’ And the next day he passed away.”
